Nicole Lalande is inspired by the beauty and intricacy of Renaissance art and classical drawing and painting techniques. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Alberta University of the Arts, she made the decision to further her knowledge and immerse herself in the heart of artistic history by moving to Florence, Italy. Nicole then dedicated herself to the intensive study of 19th century classical methods, heavily influenced by the Renaissance movement and classical Greek antiquity.
For over a decade, she had the esteemed privilege of teaching classical drawing and painting techniques at the prestigious Academy of Art in Florence. Her expertise lay in figure drawing and painting from live models, painting outside en plein air and a particular focus on the captivating art of portraiture.
